About the Ringwood Garden Club
Celebrating Over 50 Years of Community and Growth (1973–Present)
The Ringwood Garden Club was founded in 1973 by a small group of individuals united by a shared passion for gardening. By 1978, the club became federated and continues to grow as an active member of the Garden Club of New Jersey (District 1), the National Garden Clubs, Inc. (Central Atlantic Region), and the NJBG / Skylands Association.
Mission
Today, as we look ahead beyond more than five decades of service, the club remains dedicated to its founding mission:
Promoting education in horticulture, botany, and conservation
Enhancing community spaces, including the Ringwood Public Library
Supporting and volunteering at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands Manor
Encouraging environmental awareness and stewardship
Fostering an appreciation for the therapeutic benefits of gardening and connecting with nature
The Ringwood Garden Club continues to bring together individuals who share a love of gardening, learning, and giving back creating a vibrant and welcoming community for all.
When we meet:
General meetings: Held on the third Tuesday of the month (September – June) at 6 PM at the Ringwood Public Library.
Board meetings: First Tuesday of the month, 1:30 PM at the Ringwood Public Library.
Ongoing Projects
Civic Development
We design, plant, and maintain seasonal containers at the Ringwood Public Library Reading Garden, creating a beautiful and inviting space for the community to enjoy.
New Jersey State Botanical Garden
Each year, we take part in the Botanical Garden’s Holiday Open House, designing and decorating a festive winter-themed room.
We also contribute a silent auction basket to help raise funds in support of the gardens.
Ringwood Public Library Displays
Members design and curate a library display case, featuring:
Seasonal floral arrangements
Gardening inspiration
Creative themed exhibits
Garden Days
Members open their private gardens to fellow members, providing opportunities to:
Share ideas and inspiration
Experience beautiful, diverse landscapes
Build lasting friendships
Garden Club with No Borders
We extend our club community to a local Assisted Living residence, fostering meaningful connections and companionship.
From September through June, members offer programs, workshops, and hands-on activities for residents.
Center for Food Action
We proudly support the Ringwood food pantry through an annual member donation, giving back to those in need within our community.
